There was a moment, at the end of our last in person retreat, when tears streamed down my face. It was a magnitude of emotions I had never quite felt before, a profound connection and gratitude for every individual present. They had courageously torn down their emotional barriers, sharing their deepest fears, desires, dreams, and above all, their authentic selves. 

 

I am sharing this emotional story with you for two reasons.

First reason being, just 3 years ago, I don't think I would have been able to reveal this much of myself in front of other people, I was still holding back. I was scared of that raw emotion, that feeling of true vulnerability, my pure authentic expression inside of me.

And secondly, this was the first retreat we've ever taught where there were more men than women. 

Usually women are ahead of us in this realm. They have the desire and willingness to grow and expand. Although I believe, we as men, also have this desire, a lot of the time our ego gets in the way of our willingness, beyond which lies our ultimate growth and true authentic expression. We tend to hold onto a skewed idea of what a "Real Man" is supposed to be. 

 

 

It's time we confront and uncover the facades we wear daily.

Whether we overcompensate, diminish our power, play it safe, or resort to humor as a defense mechanism, many of us hide our true selves. We may adopt roles like "the reliable guy" or "the victim,"  "the friend but never the lover," "the lover but never the partner," or the "safe guy," or perhaps even the "fuck boi," among countless others. Yet in all these roles we embody, one thing is consistent: an innate fear of truly expressing and being oneself. We get stuck.

 

I've been there. I was that man, masking my pain, trudging through each day with a silent rage. And I'm elated to say - that's not me anymore.

The beauty of this moment in time is that I believe, we Men, are finally ready to step fully into our greatness and live the life we truly desire and are meant to live. One of great success, abundance, magnetism, intimacy, and ultimately; profound love, fulfillment and connection.
